WebP (Format Gambar Web)

WebP adalah format gambar modern yang dikembangkan oleh Google yang menyediakan kompresi lossy dan lossless yang superior dibandingkan JPEG dan PNG. WebP menghasilkan file 25–35% lebih kecil dari JPEG pada kualitas visual yang setara, dan mendukung transparansi serta animasi.

Riwayat

Google merilis WebP pada tahun 2010, menggunakan teknologi video codec VP8 untuk kompresi gambar. Safari menambahkan dukungan pada tahun 2020, menjadikan WebP kompatibel secara universal di semua browser utama.
