HEIC adalah format gambar modern berbasis codec video HEVC (H.265), yang digunakan sebagai format foto default pada perangkat Apple. Format ini menawarkan kompresi sekitar 50% lebih baik dari JPEG sambil mendukung fitur seperti peta kedalaman dan live photo.
