Technical Detail
Video processing of interlacing involves multiple interdependent parameters: codec, container, resolution, frame rate, bitrate, color space, and audio track configuration. The MediaSource Extensions (MSE) API enables adaptive streaming in browsers, while the WebCodecs API provides low-level access to hardware encoders/decoders. Understanding interlacing is critical for balancing visual quality against bandwidth and storage constraints — a 1-minute 4K video at high quality can exceed 500 MB unoptimized.
